Turntable Drive Belt

The chances are the rubber drive belt has either broken or stretched so that it has fallen off the drive pulleys.

You will need to gain access to the underside of the turntable to replace it.

With most turntables the process will be to secure the tone arm (a rubber band will do the trick) before turning the whole thing upside down and unscrewing the base.

Replacement drive belts are easily available on the internet. Search by make and model number of your turntable

My numark TT500 turntable doesn't spin when i press play

Sounds to me like the belt has snapped or slipped off. Lift the platter off the table. On the inside of the platter you will notice a second ring, or rim. the belt should be put on the outside of the second rim while the platter is still in your hands. Next, slide back the platter and look for the spindle running the platter through one of the big holes in the platter. Slip the belt onto the spindle and turn with your hand to make sure it runs freely. Hope this helpsmicmor100.jpg

Everything works on my record player but my turntable doesnt spin

This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!

Mid 70's sears turntable. plate will not spin.

take a soldiering iron and touch it to the metal in the center of the platter for a few seconds. this will heat up the grease on the inside and allow the platter to budge. should work fine afterwards. what happens is over time the grease hardens and locks everything up. applying some heat will loosen things up and get it running again

The turntable loses its speed

Perhaps you should retrace your own lamp repair steps. Did you tamper with anything electrical? It seems likely you touched something inadvertently.

My turntable has stopped spinning when i press start. when i stop it it spins back for a sec then nothing.when i take the plate off the turntable the bit that would spin seams like it can't move free is...

Since it's Direct Drive there's no belt to fall off. There is an electronic brake.

Could your problem have something to do with the Reverse function? Check the L.E.D. Perhaps cycling it will help.

USING THE REVERSE BUTTON:
1. Press the REVERSE (17) button to reverse the rotation of the
PLATTER (2) (the REVERSE LED (17A) will light while in reverse
mode). Press the REVERSE BUTTON a second time to return to
normal play.
