If you don't have a manual I hope this helps. You can make coffee without "Descale"ing it but it is recommended you don't go too long without doing it.

- Make sure that the filled water container is in the appliance.

- Turn the program selector to "On" with lighting and place a container under the hot water spout and another under the steam spout.

- Press the hot water button, turn the steam selector counterclockwise and dispense hot water until it flows in quiet, continuous streams.

- Press the hot water button again. Turn the steam selector clockwise to o, to turn off the water.

My CVA620 machine asks to "expel air " but

keep holding the hot water button down until you get a steady stream of water with no air. if you continue to get the error message after the water comes out, you will need to check the flow meter. if water never comes out, you have a leak inside the machine, a pump issue, or a blockage in the water path. That machine uses the same pump for steam and hot water, so if your steam is working, your pump is probably good. Blockages usually occur from not descaling properly. That machine is prone to leak at the hose fittings. the original o rings were black rubber, and failed fairly early. the replacements are red silicone and last much longer.

I need to know the concentration of descaling tablets to water to descale my cva 610 coffee maker. The instruction manuel says to fill the water container HALF WAY with correct solution of descaling agent...

The following web page has the instructions for mixing Jura tablets:
http://www.jura.com/download_information-sheet_jura_descalingtablets.pdf
I tried to find the same info in Miele's manual, but it didn't specify, but is probably the same as Jura:
http://www.cagrimmett.com/justanswer/CVA610.pdf
If you have the box or package that came with the tablets, it should say how many per volume of water. If it doesn't, contact the manufacturer.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

What's the model # ? If it's a CVA615 or CVA610, did you complete the descaling process properly, by performing the final rinse, (re-filling water tank and turning the steam selector on?)

Miele CVA610 error reads expel air but when we do as manual suggests (run hot water & milk frother) no water comes out.

- Make sure that the filled water container is in the appliance.

- Turn the program selector to "On" with lighting and place a container under the hot water spout and another

under the steam spout.

- Press the hot water button, turn the steam selector counterclockwise and dispense hot water until it flows in

quiet, continuous streams.

- Press the hot water button again.

Turn the steam selector clockwise to o, to turn off the water.

If this doesn't do it for you, you are doing it wrong!

My Miele CVA620 machine announces 'Expel Air,' and

I'm probably to late for this answer, but I will share it anyway.
I got this problem after buying a used CVA620, that had not been used for a while.
To solve the problem i used a breast pump :-)
My wife had this doublepump after the last kid. And I used the hoses that comes with this unit (rubber-like) and connecting them to the hot-water and the steam-nozzles. I started pumping, and pushed the hotwaterbutton. After 5min of pumping and swearing, the job was done. No my CVA works as a charm again :-)

Expel Air

Expel air is a common problem, but if the manual's method doesn't work, it can mean only one thing, the pump is not working. You should hear the pulsing of the pump while in expel air mode. If not the pump or its circuit is suspect. The parts are SAECO and available without paying Miele's ridiculous markups.
