My deskjet F4280 has stopped printing with my macbook pro OS X 10.5. it was working fine until the last few days. I have tried reinstalling it, however, when i get to the "select the device model" page, deskjet F4280 doesn't show, even when i search for it. I have tried this with the computer connected ,via usb, to the printer, and with it not connected. still no luck. When I get to this point, a window by HP pops up and says, "if your device is not listed, it is not supported by this installer. then visit their website to download an installer." but the CD i'm using to install the printer is the one the printer came with and the one I originally used to install it.

Try removing all ports from your laptop, then reboot, and then create just one USB port. Also, go to your hardware devices and make sure your usb ports don't have any question marks or yellow warning symbols. Be sure first that the drivers for your USB ports are installed and working first. This sounds either a faulty USB cord, which does happen, or USB drivers issues in your laptop. The printer is probably not the problem here.

I use windows 7 and my print doesnt work.i have hp deskjet f 4280.please answer me

The problem with using Windows 7 at this point is that they haven't even released the Gold Version which is the second to last release before they commit it to production. Usually the drivers are not finalized until the Gold Version, so it's almost a given that you will have problems with some or all of their drivers. Even HP couldn't help you with support for Windows 7 at this point. You might try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

Looks like this has to do with the interaction between the Win 2007 (assuming Office) and the printer driver. Try reinstalling the driver for the printer. Even downloading another one from the HP site if necessary.

Attempts to print on HP Deskjet F4280 shut down my programs

Sounds like the drivers are not installing properly. Are you installing through the CD or downloading the drivers from the HP website. Since a lot of the new drivers are no longer supporting XP you will need to download a scrubber utility and delete all of the pre installed drivers and attempt to reinstall through a manual installation of the drivers.

Can't print to mac wirelessly (could do it a few days ago)

I had the same problem until recently. You have to install the drivers FROM THE CD that came with the printer, instead of selecting the drivers from the default list. Then, when selecting which printer driver to use (you'll have two options) choose Canon IJ and NOT Canon MX310 series. This is a problem with their MX310 driver, which is solved using a default/generic Canon InkJet (hence, the IJ) driver. Hope this helps!
P.S. This only works on Mac OS X. I have yet to figure out how to print wirelessly through Vista. Will keep you posted.
