Did either of you try John's suggestion below with success? I'm wondering if I should try a 180K / 1 watt resistor...?

If you cant find a schematic / circuit diagram from the manufacturer or a source such as, here's another hack you can try, thanks to a knowledgeable member on an electronics forum:
Remove resistor from PCB.
Using a fine file or craft-knife, scrape surface paint at center of resistor, until you see silvery metal. If its a metal film resistor the foil strip is helix-wound around the ceramic body of the resistor.
If its wire wound you'll see wire instead of foil. Carbon resistors will have a black, carbon track.
Once exposed, set your multi-meter to ohms, in this case, range should be at least 100 K.
Measure R from exposed part to leg A of resistor.
Then R from exposed part to leg B.
At least one of these should show a reading of half the resistor's total value.
Multiply this by 2 to get (approximate) full value in ohms.
To confirm, try to clean / lightly scrape burnt color-bands to match the color coding to the calculated value.
Eg 180 K should read 90 K at halfway test-point.
For a four-band device this 180 K is 18 0000 ohms so first three bands are brown(1) grey(8) yellow(10^4).
Fourth band is tolerance (of value accuracy), usually gold(~5%) or silver(~10%).
Bands always start nearest one lead.
Power rating / wattage can be determined by physical body dimensions.

I bought a package of these Resistors through amazon, and the fix has been working great since then.

It's easy enough to determine the size resistance of a resistor if it's not burned. Search Resistor Color code.

Was this the resistor between the 2 big capacitors?
And can you confirm that this fix worked for you?

What amp fuse for Bosch BC 430 charger?

Unless you know the charger has been tampered with, replace with a fuse of the same value. Most fuses are marked on one of the end caps, though you might need a good light and a magnifying glass to read it.

Values of the resistors

Resistors R1, R2, R3, and R4 are arranged in a circuit as shown in the figure above. The direction of positive currents I1, I2, I3, and I4 through the resistors are shown. (i.e., negative current values correspond to currents in the opposite direction to that shown above). The values for the resistors and the batteries in the circuit are: R1 = 100 ?, R2 = 200 ?, R3 = 30 ?, R4 = 400 ?, V1 = 4 V, and V2 = 12 V.

Bosch charger not charging

Its sounds simple but always worth a try, clean all the contacts on the charger, one will read the condition of the battery, If this is dirty, it may not be giving a strong enough signal to the charger and as such it will interpret the battery as faulty.

pls check burnt resistors, if ceramic it's value is .25 0hms 5 watts, if big carbon film resistor it's value is 10 ohms 3 watts. check also power transistors A1941 & C5198. also check driver transistor A940 & C2073

I have 110 volt durapro 18volt dc battery charger, component R14 has burnt out beyond recognition and I was hoping someone could tell me exactly what it is so I can replace it. Thanks

The component is a resistor. The problem is going to be determining the resistors value since it was burnt and you can not see the color code. You might try contacting the manufacturer and asking them the value of that specific resistor by including the number like you did in your post R14. If you can find a wiring diagram for the product, it should tell you the value of the resistor also.

I hope this helps you getting started in solving the issue.

If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

Was given a Coleman power drill, model CMD8189. The charger is inoperable. The two resisters on the charger internal circuit board have been fried. The resistor codes have been burnt off, so I cannot

I need the same, but found a Makita multi-voltage charger and have been able to use it. The package says It is for Makita batteries only. HItachi also makes a universal battery charger. I found both at my local Lowe's. The Makita was originally $69, but was marked down to $25. The Hitachi was around $70. You can find either one for good prices on Ebay or Amazon.

Good luck!
