I need trippers for parogon elect timer model # 4004-20

1) Paragon is no longer making timers or parts except defrost timers.
4004-20 240V 24-hour mechanical timer is not a defrost timer.

2) paragon 4000 series uses X2772 tripper.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html#4000

3) Some sites still show the X2772 tripper.
Some sellers are seriously overcharging for the tripper.

4) If you want to buy new timer: Intermatic cross-reference guide shows T-104 240V 24 hour is correct replacement timer
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/competitive%20cross%20reference.aspx

5) Amazon sells new T104 for 50$ which is cheaper than some folks are selling the paragon tripper:
http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-T104-208-277-Volt-Mechanical-Switch/dp/tags-on-product/B000BQOX88

6) Change-over wiring from Paragon 4004-20 to T-104:
Hot wires from breakers. Paragon terminals 1 and 4. Intermatic terminals 1 and 3
Load wires. Paragon terminals 2 and 3. Intermatic terminals 2 and 4.

Moved time pointer on pool timer to set time than read instructions moved pointer back to original spot now timer does not click on or off when it passes pins

Timer brand and model number are not shown.
Brand and model appear on inside of timer door.

Moving stationary pointer will not affect on-off operation of timer. The pointer is just reference for setting current time.
Worn trippers can cause problem.
Trippers are softer metal and designed to wear down so timer mechanism lasts for decades.

Intermatic pool timers use set of 156T1978A trippers.

1) You posted under TORK Variable Cycling Timer 8601
This particular timer has built-in trippers.
Sample manual for this type of timer describes tripper operation:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/8602INSTALLOP.pdf

2) You can see Tork trippers at following link.
Page also shows Tork timers so you can identify your timer for certain.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#Trippers

3) If you have a different brand timer, the particulars will show on inside of door.

4) Add a comment your brand and model number for more free help.
I will find a source for your tripper, unless you have Paragon brand, in which case the trippers are no longer being made, and you may need a new timer.

I need to get some trippers for my paragon hot water heater timer i believe it is a 4004-20....any suggestions where i might can purchase them....thanks bill

4000 series Paragon timer uses X2772 tripper
To check your model:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html

Midnight electric sells X2772 tripper
http://midlightelectric.com/firex/acatalog/FIREXPARAGONROBERTSHAW_X2772.html

That being said,
According to e-mail I got from Paragon last month, Paragon is no longer making timers or timer parts. Except for defrost timers. 4000 series is not a defrost timer.
This explains why some sellers of these trippers are asking $50 or more for $3 pair of trippers.

To change your timer to Intermatic.
Refer to Intermatic cross reference:
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/competitive%20cross%20reference.aspx

Need manual to set timer

You posted under T-100 series outdoor timer
If you have different timer, add a comment with timer model number located inside cover.

T-104, T-103, T-101 timer manuals show on following page:
If your timer has R suffix, like T-101R, that means box is Raintight for outdoor use.
T-101R and T-101 mechanisms are identical except for box. T-101 box is indoor use.
Click model number and drop-down menu reveals link to manual
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/mechanical%20time%20switches/24%20hour%20dial.aspx

If you need simple wiring diagrams, and explanation for each T-104, T-103, T-101 timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html

Here's how to set Intermatic T100 series timers:
Lift and rotate yellow dial until current time lines up with silver pointer.
Silver pointer is stationary at 6 o'clock position.
Put ON-OFF trippers on dial at times you want ON OFF functions.
Minimum on-off is 1 hour because of tripper width.
If timer is not working, add a comment and we'll troubleshoot.

These timers have replacement trippers and clock motors at Grainger
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/timer-accessories/timers/electrical/ecatalog/N-8hi

How timer works:
Clock motor, located on back of mechanism, rotates yellow dial.
Trippers on dial push lever that turns power ON and OFF.
Off tripper pushes lever one direction.
ON tripper pushes lever opposite direction.
When lever is pushed, manual override lever clicks back and forth with audible click sound.

Lost pcs.that turn on and off the little silver clips that screw onto the disc.where can i find replacements? the ones i found at the hardware store dont match tab is in a diffrent location. its the older...

If I understand correctly, you need tripper pins for a Paragon timer
http://www.paragontimecontrols.com/parts_accessories.htm
At page bottom is a chart with model number and the tripper required
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html

The two links above help you identify your timer model and identify the tripper.
After identifying tripper number, you have to do a google search for that tripper number

So, if you need more help, please answer back and we'll find the right timer and pin

If you have Intermatic timer, then you can buy pins at Grainger
