HI. this is a power supply issue. Your unit is equipped with an external power supply unit. This box incorporates all the necessary AC current regulators, and transfer agents to run the Wii. There are ,also, some protection circuits as well. These are in place to protect the unit from surges are unstable AC spikes as well. There is a fuse that is located inside the power supply box. Simple unplug the power supply, and gain access to the fuse, by removing the outer cover of the power supply unit. there are a few screws,(on the bottom), that hold the top cover. remove the screws, and open the power supply unit. this will expose the fuse. Kindly, inspect the fuse. if it shows signs of trauma, and it is blown, simply replace the fuse.
Now, if the fuse shows no signs of trauma, or burn marks, this will confirm power supply circuit failure. This will require that you replace this damaged power supply unit asap.

while the solution offered was helpful, I simply unplugged the unit from the wall and the power cord from the console for about 10 min. then I plugged it back in and it works fine now.
SOURCE: Can not get Wii to come on
if you tried to unplug evrything for about 5 minutes and then plugged the wires back in and the wii does not turn on, try putting a disc in this should power the wii automatically..if all fails, you need to contact nintendo at 1-800-255-3700 so they may take you thru the sequence to correcting the problem....hope this helps....shia

SOURCE: the light went of and i cant get the wii to turn
I was just wondering the same thing. I found something that said unplug it from the wall, remove the plugs from the wii, and let it sit for 2 minutes. Then plug it back in (to the wall, not a surge protector). It worked on mine.

Well...... if you checked all the plugs, it might got hit by something or I think the scanner and spinner thingies broke or glitched. I would replace them or have the company that makes wiis repair it.
