The arms on my kenmore dishwasher do not spin.

Hello. The lower spray arm screws down onto the center, round, plastic part (spinner) that has threads on the center portion. It's very loose and spins easily because it uses the water spray to drive it. At the top of the threads, there will be a flat piece of plastic. Set the spray arm down onto the threads. Hold the flat plastic area that sticks out above the arm with pliers. Spin the spray arm counter-clockwise while holding the spinner. It will thread itself down about a turn or so. Snug firmly--DON'T OVER-TIGHTEN the spray arm onto the spinner. Remember, it only uses water pressure to spin so it doesn't have to be "gorilla tight"! I hope this helps you!

first check the wash arm for stuff in the holes the holes make the arm spin

It's probably clogged. Pull it off and check for hunks of food.

You need to check the arm's holes for clogs. If the water is filling and draining well, the only water that circulates is being pushed up through the center hole or tower.

The angles of the holes cause them to be little jets when the water rushes out. No water getting through = no jet = no spin.

Cyber, did you get down to the chopper screen? If that is clogged with gunk it will restrict the flow and the top arm will not spin. Im going to try to attach a pic of the chopper assy and screen. Catriver..post back
