Hi

Its a common issue for DELL Laptops usually if the battery and charger are working fine the culprit is the motherboard. If its still under warranty have them replace the motherboard and it will be good as new. Thanks

Hp laptop trouble with power on

There could be several reasons why your HP laptop is not turning on and not charging even after installing a new power button board and DC in port. Here are a few possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

Battery: Even if the laptop is connected to the charger, if the battery is faulty or dead, the laptop may not turn on. Try removing the battery and plugging in the charger directly to the laptop. If the laptop turns on without the battery, then it's likely that the battery needs to be replaced.

Charger: Check if the charger is working properly. You can try using another charger with the same voltage and amperage to see if the laptop starts charging. If the laptop starts charging with a different charger, then your original charger may be faulty.

Power Jack: Make sure the power jack is properly connected to the motherboard. If it's loose or not properly seated, the laptop may not charge or turn on. You can try reseating the power jack or replacing it if it's damaged.

Motherboard: If none of the above steps work, then the problem may be with the motherboard. A damaged or faulty motherboard can prevent the laptop from turning on or charging. In this case, you may need to take the laptop to a professional repair technician or consider replacing the motherboard.

In summary, the laptop may not turn on even when connected to the charger if the battery is dead or faulty, the charger is faulty, the power jack is loose or damaged, or the motherboard is damaged. It's important to troubleshoot each of these components to identify the root cause of the issue.

Hi

Thanks for posting in Fixya

1st of all did you try on the other laptop with the same model and make? if yes then did you check in windows if the battery of that laptop is showing it is charging?

Try to remove the main battery keep pressing the power button for 15 - 20 secs. then release it. now connect the charger directly to the laptop and try to turn on.

If you want to install the battery back do not insert when the laptop is running. Turn it off and then install the battery back and load windows later check if the OS shows that battery is getting charged

soo Have the provider install new batteries. No telling how long the "new" batteries sat on a shelf and in the showroom without being charged. The batteries are warrantied and should be replaced. While you're at have them check out the scooter after the new batteries are installed and remember to charge before use. Hope this helps

Hi, as per your information your camera 2 years old but not used much. You buy a new battery 1st time when you charged you see the gree light. But camera not working. When you try to charge the battery again you seen the red light. Its mean your charger have a problem. So what you do now? Ok try these.
Remove the power connection of the charger. then fixed the battery there slowly & properly. After that plug on the charger again. If the same thing happens then unplug the charger & plug in in different point. Then see what showing. If again red light then wait 1 hours and waiting for green signal. If there is no green signal showing then visit a service center with your charger. Tell them your problem. They will fixed the charger for you. Don't worry your camera is ok.
Your new battery or your charger one of then damaged. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

BATTERY NOT CHARGING

Use a voltmeter to check your charger. If it is producing what is marked on it, then the charging circuit in the Dell motherboard has gone bad.

Replacement of the external charger is easy, the motherboard needs to be done in the shop.

Battery not getting charged-power supply on ac power

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Is your laptop is brand new? Try to remove the battery. Then, try using your laptop and AC adapter without the battery, you will get the power supply directily from AC adapter. If it works properly, then its okay. Now, try to install back your battery then try to charge it. If not charging, perhaps you need to buy a new battery. However, I suggest you bring your laptop to a service technician to further check the error, before you purchase a new battery.

If you need further assistance, let me know!

I have an hp pavilion dv9350ea. Over a couple of years the battery became defective and I installed a new one. It showed 30% charge. I disconnected the charger to discharge the battery before re-charging...

I have to agree that the battery is defective or maybe it is NOT the correct one for your system, although it may be similar.
Did you buy the battery direct from HP a third party?
The AC adapter charger could be defective as well, maybe the defective battery ruined the charger.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.
