My Leapster Explorer is not recognizing the game cartridge when I insert it. It shows a picture of the cartridge with an X over it and asks me to remove and re-insert it. How do I fix this?

    I have this same problem with games that have previously been used without a problem. Once a game stops working it has never worked again, but other games are functioning as normal? Confused!

HI my son has a LEAP frog MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NOTHING OBSTUCTING THE CONTACTS( metal on the game and the cartdridge meet)

Try using a smaller card. Their website says anything over 2Gig is not recommended.

Leapster explorer cartridge won't fit
You have to make sure it is compatible. There are different types of Leapsters. Leapster 1 and 2, Leapster GS, Leapster Explorer and Leappad. Take it back to the store they may give you a refund or store credit.

its not recognizing the game, contact is probably dirty. take an eraser and rub the contacts of the cartridge and get them super clean, blow out ALL the debris and that should fix it.

Question mark appears when cartridge inserted leapster

Batman Leapster Cartridge broken?
Take the cartridge out of the Leapster, blow into the opening with your mouth. Do the same with the Leapster (blow into it). Insert the cartridge and see if that works.
