Hi. The colored cord you described are for high definition, there should also be some jacks on the back of the cablevision box that say "video out" "left""right"

Find those, and the video out is the yellow in jack on Mickey, and the Left is the white jack on Mickey

If you can't find those, then use the cable tv out from the box to hook it up to your tv.

This is all that is needed to hook up really, just the coax cable from the box to Mickey.
I know Mickey has a antenna cable jack on the back.

Just run a cable from the box to mickey, put Mickey on channel 3, or 4, depending on what the setting is on the box, and you should be good to go!

#dhb300b DVD player plays only black and white my TV is a JVC HD TV with HDMI cable from driver TV box hook up DVD to TV audivo to audivo video to video set TV to component program DVD to TV but plats

The yellow/red/white cables are COMPOSITE cables. COMPONENT cables are RED/BLUE/GREEN. You can buy those at any electronics store. Your best bet, though, is to stick with HDMI if you can.

Walter and Barbara Bradford calling back with additional info. The cable box is explorer 4250HDC.It is hooked to the TV with 5 cable hookup. Also there is the power wire and the cable that goes to the box...

what are you trying to do? to hook up the tv you can use the cable output from the charter box into cable input into the tv (meaning cable as in coax cable) otherwise you can use the colored ones. red white an yellow are rca jacks but the 5 wire you talking about are prob compondent cables which are red green and blue. connect those to the tv and the other red and white ones are for audio to the tv you may have to set the charter box to select which output you are using and the tv to the right input for the rca it will prob be input 1 for the component it will be component 1
let me know if thats what you needed

VCR side of combo should be hooked up with composite video(yellow, red, white wires) to video 1 input

DVD side of combo should be hooked up component video (red, blue, green wires and red white for sound)

I turn on the Tv the sound comes on & the picture is blank Cablevision was here & said it's a problem in the set

He is probably not an expert (just kidding, of course he's not..) First, try connecting the Cablevision Box to another TV (if you don't have another HD TV, use the yellow/white/red Composite connection.) If there is still no picture, the box is no good. If there is, then try a different output from the Box or other inputs on the TV. Are you using HDMI (HD connection) out of your Box? Is the TV 720p or 1080p? Set the Box up (from the menu) according to the specs of your TV. Hope I helped.

How do I hook up my maxent tv to cable

use 1 of these 4 options
On the back of the cable box there should be outputs
Coaxial ( regular cable wire that screws on)
RCA plugs (yellow red & white )
Component plugs ( green, red, blue for video) (red, white for audio)
HDMI ( on HD cable box only)

After connecting make sure your tv is on the input you connected on the back of the TV

I have a 2 tuner tv. When Cablevision installed my digital cable box, I lost the 2 tuner capability. Is there a special way it needs to be hooked up to get back the 2 tuner capability?

Your cable system is probably QAM (digital cable). The tuners built into the TV are analog and digital OTA tuners (ATSC and NTSC). If you connect the Cablevision box to the component video input (and connect the audio out of the box to the appropriate audio in) on the TV and an appropriate antenna to the coax (antenna) input, you will be able to swap use the tuners in the TV. (See tvfool.com for antenna types and direction or antennaweb.org for directions of the most likely stations to be received at your location. antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is conservative in the list it provides.)

I hope this helps.

(please note, you probably need to get the component video cables. These have 3 RCA plugs on each end (red, green and blue). To carry the audio you need a cable with 2 RCA plugs on each end (red and white). Match the colors as you connect them.)

I need to know where to plug in my connectors for my cable box. I have two red ones and one blue one I can't find the right holes to plug them in. I have a green one and white one fixed so I have a black...

Hi,
This would be 5 pins, red-white is for audio and rest of 3 pins red-green-blue for video signal, it calls component video.
Find out red-green-blue jacks at back of TV that would be label as Y, Yr, Yb
Plug each pin in same color to get color picture.

Our Sony Grand Wega suddenly has a green-yellow tint.

IF IT IS HOOKED UP WITH COMPONENT CABLES (GREEN, RED, AND BLUE) FOR PICTURE AND RED AND WHITE FOR AUDIO, MOST LIKELY THE RED ONE IS NOT SEATED PROPERLY, CHECK BOTH ENDS THE ONE CONNECTED TO THE TV AND THE ONE CONNECTED TO WHATEVER THE SOURCE IS ( SATELLITE BOX, CABLE BOX ETC.

Hook up of dvd to tv

hey I think you need to use component cables blue green red from the player to the tv, make sure the blue green red ports are also on the tv, note: red yellow white composite cable will not interchange with blue green red component cable or connection.

simplify- blue green red= component
red white yellow=composite

*wires must match colors on both tv and player inputs.

then set your input on your tv to where you conected the cable.

From cable box component out to tv component picture is on no aud

You need to also connect the RCA audio out (red/white) from your source to the audio input on the TV. You do not need the yellow wire as that is for composite video. The component cable (red/green/blue) is only for video. Look at the input on the TV where you connected the red/green/blue cable. Right next to it, you should have another red and white connectors for the audio input. Connect that to the audio out on the cable box.
