Depends on the watches value. If you go to a jeweler they charge a good price even for a cheap one. If your watch is worth thirty dollars or under its cheaper to buy a new one but if its worth a lot of money then you could get a new band. A jewelry store will give you a price.
Your picture clearly shows the small arrows (on the inside of the band) the way the watch band pins need to be removed. You'll need a very small needle and a small hammer to drive the pins out in the direction of the arrows. Remove links evenly on both sides so the clasp is centered.
Once you fell you have removed enough links to fit your wrist, drive the pins back in reverse direction from the arrows, and set them smooth to the touch. If you can push the pins in to the hole just beneath flush, with your needle and hammer, it'll keep the pin from snagging your sweaters.
If all else fails most jewelry stores charge less than $10 to remove links. Have fun. It's not hard.
If you are talking about the Field & Stream F187GWBS men's wristwatch, you can purchase replacement generic watch bands at a variety of locations. This watch takes a 22mm width band, and you can replace the original stainless steel band with a leather band for comfort or find a different brand of stainless bands.
If you prefer not to replace your own band, you still don't need a full-service, premium-priced jewelry store. Their replacement watch bands are also often twice as expensive as ones you can find at a discount store or in a shopping mall watch kiosk. Many watch kiosks offer free or low-cost band replacement if you purchase a band from them.
Most if not all watch repair stores and many jewelry repair stores will have extra links for your watch band. The price will range depending on the band you are trying to match.
Many times the best place to look for extra links is where you orginally purchased the watch, they might have links they are willing to provide for free or a very small nominal charge.
hi friend,
step 1
Measure the watch band's length. Every wrist size is different, and there's no need to remove all of the links when you may only need to remove one or two. Putting the watch around your wrist and pinching each link around it to see how much room you need gives the jewelry wearer a reasonable estimate.
Step 2
Open the watch near the link you want to remove. Link watches have several openings, so even if you open the wrong clasp, it can always be reattached.
Step 3
Flick the tip of your fingernail inside the clasp to open the extra links. Continue doing so until you have removed all of the links that are too big for your wrist. If you have short fingernails, try using tweezers or anything with a sharp edge that can easily unfasten a link. New watches tend to be very stiff, so it may take a little nudging, but the links come off. It will be obvious which ones come off and which ones don't by looking at the back of the watch band. The links that come off have a claw on the tip of each one and sometimes have the brand name on top of it.
Step 4
Put the extra links in a safe place. There may come a time that you either let someone else borrow the watch or your wrist swells and you need these links again.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){
var $this = jQuery(this);
$this.find('img').error(function(){
jQuery(this).remove();
$this.remove();
});
});
Tips & Warnings
If you can't get the links to open, visit a jewelry repair store. Workers there may be willing to help you adjust your watch for free. If you bought the watch from a retail store, the jewelry counter is usually required to adjust your watch for no additional cost.

some bands have pressure pins holding them together and once the come apart wont hold again. take it to a jewelry store with a lazer welder and they should be able to drill out the old on and weld a piece of steel
Any local retail store like Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart. Just go to the Jewelry Counter find the band spinner measure the length of where the band is held with the watch. Find your new band. Usually everyone place have descent bands. Ask employer there really helpful as well. Good Luck.
If it is a metal band there are links in the side of teh band that you can remove. If all teh removable links are gone you may need to change the band into a smaller one. And there are little pins by the watch you can do that as well. I recommend taking to a jewelry repair shop. Some jewelry store do repairs as well, and may have parts you need for this as well as the tools.
