Refridge is warm, freezer is working fine. There is a damper controlled by a small motor behind the meat drawer or top drawer. Pulled out drawer, and hole that gets air from freezer was blocked with a hockey puck type piece of ice/frost. Put it back together. The rotational damper always goes to the close position, and the 3" or so fan that pulls cold air from freezer behind the meat drawer, and returns warm air to freezer is not working. Disconnected wires from fan motor which is 120v, plugged directly into 120v with jumpers. Did not blow fuse, but motor did not rotate at all or make any movement. Is it the computer control panel inside the meat drawer (which i doubt because fan is not working when all computer controls are bypassed) I am thinking it is this little fan motor that is keeping the refridge side warm because it is not working. Does this fan cool the fridge??

This is known as the CZT or Climate Zone Technology fan and if you direct wire it and it does not run, replace.
This is the cold zone fan which supplies cold air to the meat and crisper drawers.

Do you know the part number for that, looked on all specs and the CZT option is not on any of the schematics that I have found.

Where is damper door in a kenmore refrigerator model #9510681 side by side

If you can't see the damper door, it is most probably shut, possibly frozen or not working. Top of middle section, allows airflow from freezer to fridge part. Switch thermostat off, wait 20 mins, switch back on. If damper doesn't open, check stat and damper motor.

The meat and veg drawers freeze the meat and veggies no matter what setting the temp. is on.

Freezing meat,vegetables. Problem with damper.

For this problem, its indicating towards problem with damper assembly.----------

The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located. ----------- The damper is operated by a motor. Its a complete damper assembly with motor included in it.--The damper has door.Which closes and open with the help of motor. In your case the damper door is remained open, its not closing.Due to this the cool air from freezer section is running in to fridge section non-stop.Due to this the vegetables and other food in the bottom drawer freezing.--------- In this problem the damper assembly needs to be replaced.---------------

You can get required parts from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.

----------- This should help. Thanks.Helpmech.

check yor damper door, it's the little door at the top and or bottom of the fridge insid near the top and or at the bottom behind the crisper drawer when working right they open to let cold air in from the freezer and warm air out. top one cold in, bottom one warm air out.they work on a sensor/relay when the freezer fan goes on they open when cold air is needed.

Kenmore refrigerator model # 596.75522400 bottom frizer. Frizer works ok but refrigeratot does no get cold.

If the freezer is cold, it is probably the evaporator fan motor or the damper. The damper is the easiest to check.

Inside the refrigerator compartment, top, center, back is a small plastic grill that snaps out of a larger plastic housing. Tug gently from the bottom edge. You should see a small damper door. If it is closed, push it open. If you feel a flow of air, the fan motor is good and the problem probably has something to do with the damper not opening. If you do not feel the flow of air, it is probably the evaporator fan motor.

If it is likely the damper, you can prop it open to get the refrigerator compartment cold again until you can solve the damper problem. I have not had to solve this problem yet, so good luck.

I've had problems with evaporator motors in every Kenmore appliance I've owned. So, it is probably the evaporator fan motor. The motor is just above the evaporator coils inside the freezer compartment.
Lift out the baskets and lift off the drawer front. Remove the drawer slide mechanism buy depressing a single plastic clip on each side as you pull the slide forward.

Fridge compartment is not cold enough

inside the back of your freezer there are two holes that lead to your refrige there is also a fan with a small motor attached is the fan blowing the air fromthe freezer into the refridge section also are the two holes plugged up with ice these are some of the first things that you should be checking turning that switch basicly jut opens the damper door that goes fromthe freezer to the fridge so in allactuality if the door is pluged with ice or the air isnt being pushed through those holes your refridge wont get that cold also another thing to check would be the operation of that small damper door if you do have a fan runnning and do not have ice but if the door is always closed this could also cause this problem hope this helps

Meat and vegetables placed in the produce drawers turn to ice. fridge temp set at 39. freezer set at 0. as you face the fridge, the drawer on your left is the worst. fruit is okay in right drawer.

check the damper door vent assembly located between the freezer and refrige compartments and make sure its not frozen open so as to let cold air in all the time, adjust the temp in the refrige and the door should open and close with adjustments,if not then damper door motor assy or the electronic control board is defective that supplies power to this door

My Frigidaire refrigerator side by side is freezing drinks.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Warm fridge

If you are sure the fan is running either the damper motor (vent in fridge section) is bad and not opening or there is ice in the return vents and not letting air circulate. Take out the bottom drawers in the fridge and look down the two return vents in each corner with a flashlight. If they are iced up the top will not cool.
