I unplugged my Polaroid digital camera from the computer after loading pics and ever since then the camera won't start. A friend told me that I did not use "remove safely" and to plug it back in and use that function. The problem is, because the camera won't power on, the computer does not detect it. How can I get the camera to turn on so I can reset it?

You have probably corrupted the firmware inside the camera.

SOURCE: Downloading pictures from Polaroid t831 camera

Try this option, if it does not work, let me know and I will suggest something else!

Plug the camera in along with the usb into the computer and if nothing pops up, go to start, run and browse for your camera. It should show up there.

Lost software for polaroid pdc 4055amera

You don't need any software for that.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Can not find out why it is that the USB connection won't work

Is this camera and its software from the Win98 era? If so it is likely the software is not compatible with XP patch not with standing. Go to Start/Control Panel' Add/Remove software and remove the Polaroid software. Restart the computer. Now simply plug the camera in and go to my computer- XP will put the camera up as another drive You do not need software to upload images in XP.
