Once my line is down in the water when ice fishing I can't seem to get the setting right to show the depth of my hook .

Make sure the transducer is level and also make sure your beam is set to wide. If you have theses suggestion in place there should be no reason that you can not see your jig.

This could be a lot of things. The unit employs multiple signals to gather data and it could be the transponder not getting the signal or it could be something simple like the sensitivity. Humminbird 757c Operation Manual Sensitivity

Screen shows bottom fine but doesnt show any fish i have changed every setting but nothing works

Fish on the bottom show as a blur, similar to weed, and pelagics show the same, but because of there position they are easy to recognise. Large singe fish like schnapper and sharks tend to show as an upside down V. You will have to use it often and you will eventually, by experience be able to tell whether you are looking at fish or weed.

the base that the unit plugs into has a plug in for the transducer and one for the power. make sure that the power plug is pushed in far enough on the mount so the unit gets power. then tighten up the screw that holds the two in place.
