2009 anti virus program keeps on poping on the computer screen. It's massing up my software.

I suggest you install an anti-virus program, any viruses that infects a computer can damage your computer and programs, depending upon the type of infection.
The sooner you remove the virus the better.
There are commercial anti-virus programs available such as mcAfee and Nortons.
There are also freeware anti-virus programs, I recommend AVG.

there may be other antivirus which is install on your computer. Remove all antivirus and then you will be able to install your MCAFEE.

Get rid of Norton. There are alot of Free Software Programs that are better.

If all else fails, then do a Reformat. You will loose everything, so do a Back-up.

If you are positive you have any anti virus installed, you can disable the notification.

Click Start, then go to Control Panel. In Control Panel, open Security Center.

On the left hand side of the window, click " Change the way security center alerts me"

Uncheck Virus Protection and click OK.

It is possible you have a virus. Check your anti-virus software is up to date and you should do a complete scan of your computer. If you do not have anti virus software then I would recommend Avast free version, with this you can schedule a boot time scan which will remove a virus hiding in the windows system files. you should also scan for adware and spyware with one of the free programs available to do this.
