Are the double images different colors, such as red or blue or green? If so, the projection unit is "out of convergence, meaning the images are not superimposed on one another. That requires a convergence generator, also known as a video alignment generator.
one of two things on this model==clean the lens on top of the chassis--the round large black ones.
Second: there is a resistor in the power supply that changes value and will cause this----also with set unplugged and back off since set was moved carefully look for any plugs not fully seated etc.
The power source detects an overload on one of its exits and shuts down to protect itself. The tv must be opened and tested by a knowledgeable person who can identify and replace the failed part.
You have a convergence problem, you will need to change the convergence IC's STK392-110, there is also 12 6.8 1w resistors that need to be changed, there is also 2 fusilbe resistors that may be open. You can probably Google the IC's as a kit and find them all in one kit.
You can fix this yourself and save about $300-$400 in repair bills.
Repair involves some dis-assembly...replace convergence IC's
and inspect current limiting resistors for over-heat damage...
