SD Memory Cards have a write-protect switch to prevent image data from being deleted. By sliding the switch to the bottom of the card, the data will be protected. images cannot be recorded when the card is protected. If an attempt is made to record or delete an image with the camera, the card-locked message will appear on the monitor.
Press and hold down the Alt key and the press the PrtSc key. Open MS Word with a blank page then click on Edit - Paste and place the Desktop image onto this page, you may need to resize the image to suit, hold down the Shift key as you drag to resize the image, this will keep the image in proportion. Then you can save and print this document.
The PROTECT function is used to prevent any valuable images that you have recorded from being erased accidently. These images will appear on the images with the protect indicator (key symbol).
To release the PROTECT from the images, set the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE selector to PLAY, then display the images to be released.
Select FILE , PROTECT and then set it to OFF. You can do the same in Index mode to delete multiple selected images. To release protect from all the images, select index screen and select ALL, the select to OFF.
You can view the instructions on page # 74 of the manual.
Thanks for contacting FixYa.
Look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Unprotect them first. With the image displayed, touch [MENU] to display the menu. Touch up/down to select the key symbol.
Full details are in the "Viewing menu" section of the manual (page 54 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=DSCN1
1.Look for a switch or button on the side of the micro SD card or adapter. It might have a lock/unlock symbol on it.
2.Move the switch to the "Unlocked" position to remove write protection. This position may also be labeled "R/W" for read/write. If you have no switch, continue to Step 3.
3.Download and install Sony EzRecover (see Resources for link) and attempt to use it to format the card (this will erase all content). If this doesn't work, try Step 4.
4.Delete and repartition the micro SD card using Windows XP. Select "Control Panel" > "Administrative Tools" > "Disk Management." Select the micro SD drive and click "Delete." Right-click on empty drive and select "New Partition."
If your pictures are on the SD card in your camera, many of the sd cards have a small micro switch on one edge that will lock your card... you may want to pull it out of the camera and make sure that the physical lock isn't set..
Solution 1 Card has a protection tab, it could be in the locked position, try moving it. then try in camera.
Solution 2 use a progran like Image Rescue, downloadable from www.lexamedia.com to save images & then re format card
You need to remove the memory card from the camcorder and place it into a pc or photo shops computer. This will allow you to view the saved items on the memory card. You can then save these to disc and delete the contents on the card.
