Samsung LE40R72BDX 40 in. HD-Ready LCD Television Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 06, 2011

I have a Samsung ln46c630 which was purchased in May 2010. For the last few weeks it has started to have a strobing effect. Switching the source sometimes fixes the problem. It will run fine for a while but the strobing returns. It is very obvious, like being in a disco. The strobing often starts when a commercial begins but then does not normally stop without the tv source being changed. Changing the source does not always fix the problem.

Any luck? We bought our tv (same one) in March of last year. It is doing the exact same thing. Time Warner has already came out and switched out the cable box and cables. We have a tv tech coming soon (contracted out from Samsung, of course...) Problem persists...

I too have the same issues with TWC. I have a 58" Samsung plasma and the TWC Samsung cable box. I have all kinds of picture/sound quality issues. TW has been out a few times and i have spent countless hours on the phone with TW. they tell me my TV's HDMI is bad. Best Buy came out and said there was nothing wrong with my HDMI and said it was a TWC issue.

From the research i have done online, it seems the issue is with the cable box's firmware that supports HDMI. the work around is to switch from HDMI to Component cables. you should see immidiate results.

Two Samsung LA40A450's, purchased within days of eachother, located in two different houses. Last few weeks both families get no sound when switching channels to ABC. Have to reselect ABC maybe a couple...

If you are receiving the signal from the same cable service provider rather than through an antenna, I would suspect the cable service is having a problem with its retransmission of the ABC channel in that suburb. I don't know if Australia is still broadcasting analog TV signals or if ABC is digital, but if the latter, perhaps the receivers are having trouble decoding the sound format identifier information. This could be something as subtle as a timing tolerance issue or as crude as noise or low signal level on the cable that has the receivers operating at the margin of sensitivity.

Bought a brand new Samsung LN46C630 .Turn it on and sound comes on and a blue screen and the goes black. Any suggestions ?

Your TV most likely has faulty capacitors in the power supply section of the TV. This is a failry common problem.

  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.
2c07611.png The number one cause for the symptoms above are faulty capacitors within your Plasma or LCD TV. The number one reason that these parts fail is that TV manufacturers often times use lower grade capacitors in their efforts to reduce costs. After several years these lower grade parts will tend to fail first. To insure that these parts will not fail again its imperative that they are replaced with high temp, high quality, low-ESR caps. You can find the parts online from sources like Digikey or you can get complete reair kits incuding the parts, repair instructions, and support from www.TvRepairKits.com

Canon 580ex II strobe issue

This depends on the mode you have selected on the flash gun. If you have Multi selected you will get the strobe effect. The strobe effect is all so present to help the flash set the correct exposure. It's not a problem with the flash or the camera. Spend some time reading through the flash gun manual. I have to admit it is not always clear. Also try Youtube for a video.
