Dell xps m1530 and it will just shut down for no reason someone said its getting hot bought a fan or cooling pad but still does it have extended service protection

Sounds like the fans need cleaned or replaced. If the board and or the processor get to hot they may actually throw an error code. Try cleaning it and making sure the fans are moving.

Is it charging? If it isn't then try a different charger but reopen it and clean it with a soft brush and try again otherwise it looks like you've a PSU fault there and you have either disconnected or caused static damage to the system.

Dell XPS M1530 trouble shutting down

Try this, just to see if the shutdown actually works.

Open a command prompt and enter the following:

shutdown -s -t 05

-s is to shutdown, -t 05 is a 5 second countdown.  Let me know if it actually shuts down.
