Hello. What the problem is a part in the cooktop that opens to let gas flow to the knobs as soon as they are turned on is bad and no gas coming to surface unit burners. This a safety feature that the German goverment(where Gaggenau is made) requires that part to prevent a gas leak when cooktop is off.
There is a thermistor that must be in the flame area that needs to get hot. When hot it will turn the igniter off and keep the flame on. Check it's location and if it is in the flame then it needs to be replaced. not sure about the central flame problem. could be the switch.
You have 2 line, 2 load, and if there is an indicator light, 1 for that and 1 ground. The other guy may be right about the 2 grounds, if not, the indicator light may have a connection for hooking it to another light in series. The tech cannot understand the schematic? get someone who can.
The heat has caused it to be stiff. Just apply steady pressure and it will lift off. Gaggenau is real good about making sure that if a part is screwed down that you can find the screw.
POWDER-COATING IS THE BEST BUT PRICEY AS-WELL.
GO TO THE AUTO STORE AND TRY USING HI-GLOSS HEAT RESISTANT ENGINE PAINT. THEY HAVE BLACK AND SEVERAL OTHER COLORS.
MAKE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTUCTIONS ON THE SPRAY-CAN CAREFULLY.
Most probably dirty jets. If water was spuilled, there is a possibility of rust forming on some parts.
Low flames are usually due to inadequate gas supply, due to dirty jets and burners. Often rust forms on the top burners in the little holes, causing slight blockage - clean the holes with a needle properly and check.

Sounds like the spill got into one of the burner switches. This is not a big problem. Once it drys out it should return to normal. However if it keeps on clicking it could mean that one of the switches shorted out and will need to be replaced. The switches are located under the burner control knobs on the valve. Hope this helps.
