Wi-Fi settings determine whether iPhone uses local Wi-Fi networks to connect to the Internet.
Turn Wi-Fi on: Choose Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on.
Join a Wi-Fi network: Choose Wi-Fi, wait a moment as iPhone detects networks in range, then select a network. If necessary, enter a password and tap Join (networks that require a password appear with a lock icon).
Once you join a Wi-Fi network manually, iPhone automatically joins it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPhone joins the one last used. When iPhone is joined to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows signal strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the signal. Set iPhone to ask if you want to join a new network: Choose Wi-Fi and turn "Ask to Join Networks" on or off. Join a closed Wi-Fi network: To join a Wi-Fi network that isn't shown in the list of scanned networks, choose Wi-Fi > Other, then enter the network name. If the network requires a password, tap Security, tap the type of security the network uses, and enter the password. You must already know the network name, password, and security type to connect to a closed network. Some Wi-Fi networks may require you to enter or adjust additional settings, such as a client ID or static IP address. You can type it manually by login onto the Belkin's network page using the browser and by copying the static and dynamic IP address.

ok what you will have to do is go to control panel and unistall all the software for the belkin then you will have to reinstall the software when you install make sure you only hook up the router to the computer and get it to work then you can hook up the xbox and the ipone you will have to set up port forwerding for the xbox to work correctly.

I have a Belkin router and i don't know hoe to cennect my laptop to my main broadband at home ,what do i do with the yelow cable do i connect the router to my laptop ? I have no clue and it;s really...

Here's how to connect the router.

From your broadban modem, connect the ethernet cable to the Internet/WAN port of the router. Then using another ethernet cable, connect your laptop to port 1 on the back of the router. Now run the setup CD that came with your router. After setting it up, it will tell you to disconnect the ethernet cable from your laptop to try the wireless function. Good Luck!

Just hook it all up, and push and hold the reset button in the back of the router for 10 sec..

Then unplug your internet box, [cable/DSL box] and plug back in,
The internet box will send a IP to your router automaticly.

[If it dont work unplug power from both boxes, then back in but plug the internet box in first..]

Encryption problems

You just have to enter the WEP encryption that you have configured on the Belkin router to reconnect your laptop back to the wireless router. To verify the WEP of the router:

  • Open an Internet Explorer window on your computer and type in http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar. This will take you to the Belkin router's web based configuration page. If you are not able to open the page click here.
  • You will get a login page. Leave the password blank. Click Submit .
  • On the left side of the page, click Wireless Security or Security below Wireless .
  • Take note of the WEP key.
  • Click Logout in the top right hand corner.
