When turning on the ES40V, it has given the U99 or F60 error codes. It will not reset itself or allow for any power to be turned on. I can not eject the DVD player either.
The original error prior to these codes: the audio would play but the picture would only be a still on the VCR. It wouldn't sync up with the playing of the video with the audio.
Help please.
Ben
Same problem. Contacted Panasonic. Technician indicated that there is a problem between the CPU and the timer. The unit is three years old and out of warranty, so he offered Panasonic's service at $120 for labor plus any parts.
So I gave it one more try. I pressed and held the REC on the Power button for about 10 seconds, which reset the unit. Then I was able to play a DVD and eject it.
Hope this helps with your unit.

Looks like I will be opting for a new DVD player, no VHS component, and hope that it lasts longer.
