You can submit a name change request through the "Name" section of your Account Settings page. Please note that Facebook reviews each name change request that is submitted. Due to the volume of requests they receive, your request may not be processed immediately.

Please note that Facebook account names must adhere to the following authenticity standards:

  • Your full first and last name must be listed. Initials cannot stand in place of your full name. Nicknames can be listed if they are a variation of your first or last name, but only in the format "First Name 'Nickname' Lastname."
  • Your name must be listed using characters from one language only.
  • Your name cannot consist of any titles, symbols, numbers, unusual capitalization, or punctuation.

Impersonating anyone or anything is not permitted. To encourage people to use their real names on Facebook, they limit the number of times names can be changed. Also, if a Facebook representative changes your name for you, this change is considered final and you can't manually change your name afterwards. To list another name you go by, such as a maiden name, please go to the Account Settings page.

I want to change my email address do I have to set up a new account or can I just change on my old acct

For some of the email services, you may need to close the old account and open a new one. What you can do depends on the service provider and for some you cannot change the address.

For some you may be able to just open a new email account and leave the old one dormant. You will probably need to use a different name for this or the account request may be rejected. Never give these people your real name in any event. Always use a fake name where you can..

For Sony ps3, when trying to sigh into playststion network, it first wants me to accept the terms and conditions again. After waiting for the terms and conditions to load, it comes up with "a server...

This means that the server has received the request headers, and that the client should proceed to send the request body (in case of a request which needs to be sent; for example, a POST request). If the request body is large, sending it to a server when a request has already been rejected based upon inappropriate headers is inefficient. To have a server check if the request could be accepted based on the requests headers alone, a client must send Expect: 100-continue as a header in its initial request (see RFC 2616 14.20 Expect header) and check if a 100 Continue status code is received in response before continuing (or receive 417 Expectation Failed and not continue).

Hello, I have just registered with paypal & I have used my name which I need to us my married name as I am not able to program my payment card details for purchases. Can you help please.

It is essential that your card information tallies the name you registered with your PayPal account. You need to request PayPal Support to change it for you. To do this.

- Log in to your account
- Click the "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page.
- Click "Send us" under "Email us".
- Click "My Account" in the "Choose a Topic box, and then "Name Change" in the "Choose a subtopic" options.
- Type in your request and click continue
- Enter additional required information and hit continue.

Keep in mind that you cannot transfer the name of your account to a different person so be sure to explain why you need to change or edit your initial information provided.

Goodluck!

My nephew's account was hacked into and his name and password changed. what can be done to fix this?

Your nephew should have had an email sent to him to advise that his password and or email address was being changed. You can reject these changes from within these emails. If his email address has not been changed you can request a password change from the login page to regain control of his account.

FACEBOOK WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO USE MY REAL NAME. WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE MY NAME IN THE 'ACCOUNT SETTINGS' THE SYSTEM REJECTS THE NAME

Please note that Facebook account names must adhere to the following authenticity standards:
  • Your full first and last name must be listed. Nicknames can be listed if they are a variation of your first or last name, but only in the format "First Name ‘Nickname’ Lastname."
  • Accounts are for personal use only. To represent a celebrity, business or brand, please create a Facebook Page. Pages are for representing a real public figure, artist, brand or organization and may only be created by an official representative of that entity. For more information about Facebook Pages, please click here.
  • Professional and religious titles are not allowed in account names.
  • You can list your maiden name as your alternate name on the Account Settings page. Please note that account names that include "was", "nee", and "formerly" are not allowed.
  • Accounts can represent one person only. Accounts representing groups, families, or couples are not allowed.
Facebook reviews every name change request before it is approved. If your real, full first and last name has been rejected, you can submit your request for further review. Please select the option that best describes your issue:
  • I'm already registered, but I need to change my name: Please submit your name change request and allow 24 hours for the submission to be approved. Facebook reviews each name change request that is submitted. Due to the volume of requests we receive, your request may not be processed immediately. If you have already submitted the request and the 24 hours have expired, please submit your report to Facebook.
  • I'm trying to sign up for a new account to use as a personal profile: While signing up for a personal profile, please ensure that your full name does not contain any invalid punctuation and that it contains a full last name. If you're still having problems signing up for a personal profile, please submit a report.
