DATE WONT CHANGE - Timex Expedition 43892 Wrist Watch

To set time and date:
1) With time and date showing,
press SET and hold for 2 seconds.
2) Seconds flash. Press START/STOP to set seconds
to zero.
3) Press MODE

Hour flashes.
Press START/STOP
to change hour, including AM (no symbol) and PM.
4) Press MODE
.
Minutes flash.
Press START/STOP to change
minutes; hold button to scan values.
5) Press MODE. Year flashes.
Press START/STOP to change year.
6) Press MODE
.
Month flashes.
Press START/STOP
to change month.
7) Press MODE
.
Date flashes.
Press START/STOP
to change date.
8) Press SET
, at any step, to exit and save settings.
With time and date showing, press SET
to switch between 12- or 24- hour time format.
Date (day of month) appears in upper part of display in Time
mode. Press and hold START/STOP
to see month, date, and year in large digits

some of these watches wont let you do this you have to go through the full 24 hour cycle to change the date

follow these instructions off the manual below if you set the watch in wrong sequens it wont change at 12 oclock

mcdevito75 here, If your Timex has a Stem (winder) do this, Slip a fingernail just under the stem and gently lift the crown just a bit, the stem has 2 positions, it may take practice so be patient, once the crown is in it"s first position you"ll be able to change the DATE, set the date 1 date before the date you want so that the date will change on time at about Midnite. Now with the date 1 date before the date you want, push the crown back in and pull the crown out to set the hands, go thru the 24 hour cycle once till you reach the date you want, set also the time of day and your done. mcdevito75 here, Most day / Date or just date watches with a stem (winder) even if they are quartz have a 2 position stem. Smply slip a fingernail under the crown and lift to it"s first position, this should allow you to change the date with haveing to go the 24 hours but remember the date cahnges at 12--1 Midnite, Best bet, change the date to the date before the date you want then go the 24 hours this way the date will change at midnite and not 12 noon.

The date may have a mechanical change at midnight(ish).

f this is the case, take the watch past midnight and then wind it back to (say) 11 and then forward again. Repeat this until the correct date is achieved.

If you watch is an electronic type then press the mode button until the date change function appears (it is likely to be abreviated "DC ? perhaps" and then use one of the other buttons to advance or ****** the date as required. Some experimenting may be required.

Sounds like a return to the manufacturer to me, you generally only get two clicks one for the date one for the dial hands. But try one click and turn in both directions, or two clicks go to 11:59pm through 12:00am back and forward and see if it will change date that way.

mcdevito75 here, The manufacturer recommends you don"t try to change the date between certain hours as this could hurt the date changeing mechanism inside the watch, I don"t think you did any harm (LUCKY) and the date changeing 45 minutes before mid nite is just about right. BUT! if the date change was aliitle closer to mid nite at 1 time you can try to reset the date, here"s how, your stem should have 2 positions to change the date without haveing to cycle the watch the 24 hours 60 times. Slip a finger nail just under the crown and gently, gently lift the crown to it:s first position, it may take a little practise but you"ll get it, once you do, trun the crown and you should see the DATE change, if so set the DATE to 1 DATE before the DATE you want, now pull the stem out and set the correct gate and time of day. Your watch is now reset and date will change on time, around nid nite.
