DVD Player won't play movies in color

We own a Panasonic SC-HT640 DVD Home theater system. We recently played a movie and it played in black and white. Since then, all movies are playing in black and white and we are unable to fix this issue using the users manual. Can you please help?

I have the same problem with a Toshiba home theater system. I think the problem might be an unplugged cable in the back, but there are so many cables I don't know what might be in the wrong place or missing!

Generally, the main causes of the problem are included in the following aspects.
1. The incorrect TV and DVD broadcast formats.
2. Incorrect cabling.
3. The backlight of the TV screen is abnormal or broken.
4. Objective factors, like whether and connection signal.

It could be the av cables being faulty or shorted. Try replacing them with another set and see if it goes away.

Panaonic Home Theatre DVD system only plays movies inblack white

Check the region and picture settings on the home theatre's dvd player, it could be set to put out a component signal, or it could be set to a PAL region rather than NTSC

Dvd will not play in dvd player but will play in computer

I don't know if I really find the solution but several burned discs I decide to burn a poor disc 8x instead my emtec 16x and voil'a the disc go on my SC-HT70. I suppose it doesn't support new type of discs with higher velocities even burned at a lower velocity (4x). If any one have another solution please let me know.
Also I know we can upgrade firmware of Panasonic but it can only be done by a technician and it's very expensive.

DVD player cuts out during movie

I have had this problem after 1 year of use. I called Panasonic to tell them the issue and they said it is beyond the warranty so they are not willing to do anything about it. I know they know this is a known defect and they are not doing anything to help their customers who paid good money on their system. Lesson learned... next time pay a little more and go with SONY!!!

CONNECTING THE PANASONIC SC HT680 TO A SONY TRINITRON COLOR TV AND CABLE BOX

audio/video OUT from the cable box to the aux IN on the panasonic right? So you can see the output from the cable box but only sound from dvd. Are you changing the input on the tv when you go from watching the cable box to watching the DVD? the panasonic handles audio, but the video from each goes to two different inputs on the sony. I hope none of this sounds condescending.
