Iphone on emergency mode

I'm trying to unlock my iphone generation 1, i've gone into itunes and restored my factory settings but its still showing up as my sim card invalid, can anyone help me with this please?

  • nida81 Jul 22, 2008

Thank you for your solution, so does this mean the iphone I have at the moment is useless unless there is a solution to fix the problem with ver 2.0 software being downloaded on the 1st generation phones?

I need to reset my phone amd i forgot my passcode

Hello Karabo, what kind of phone do you have?

If you're an iPhone user and forget your passcode, you will have to factory reset it without Apple ID. To do this you need first put the phone into DFU mode and connect it to iTunes. Your iTunes will help you to reset your iPhone without entering Apple ID easily. Restoring iPhone to factory settings with this method will result in wiping all the data. The following steps will show you how to do that.

1. Open iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cable.

2. After that, turn off you device. Press and hold the Home button for 3 seconds.

3. Put your iPhone into DFU mode: Press and hold the Power and Home button for 10 seconds. Then release the power button and keep holding the home button. When you see the Apple logo disappears, you have successfully put your iPhone into DFU mode.

4. When iTunes detects that your iPhone is in recovery mode, you can restore it now.

5. Click on Restore iPhone. Then you will be notified after the reset and your iPhone will take a restart.

After factory resetting iPhone, you will get all the data swept from iPhone 6 Plus, and you can restore the files from your iPhone, iTunes backup or iCloud backup.

I put in wrong code and now it says disabled connect to iTunes but I set the phone up with wifi so how do I get in my iPhone?

Your iPhone is currently on disabled mode after entering wrong combination of password. There are several ways to gain back the access to your iPhone:

First Method: iTunes
1. Using your computer, open iTunes where you have recently backed up your iPhone.
2. Connect your iPhone. Once your iPhone is detected, a notification will appear to enter your passcode. Note: If the lockscreen doesn't show, proceed to next method.

Second Method: Update

1. While your iPhone connected to iTunes, powered on. Hold down the Power key + Home button simultaneously until the screen off, keep on pressing the Home button then release the Power key until iTunes detected that your iPhone is on Recovery Mode. Note: An iTunes logo will appear on the iPhone when Recovery mode is enabled.
2. On iTunes, click on Update iPhone. It may take a while to download the software, so leave it for a while connected until the installation complete.
3. Once updated, try unlocking your iPhone. Note: If you still can't unlock your iPhone proceed to next method.

Third Method: Restore (last option)
1. If method 1 and 2 fails to unlock your iPhone. Then try to restore your iPhone into its factory default and restore your backup after.
2. Go to recovery mode. See method 2 step 1 process to enable recovery mode.
3. Then choose Restore iPhone. Note: Restoring your iPhone will delete and remove all of your data including apps, music, photos, messages, contacts, notes, etc.
4. It may take a while to download and install the software, so leave your device connected until the process complete.
5. After your iPhone has been restored, choose restore from a backup or iCloud, then wait until your iPhone successfully synced your old data.
6. Try unlocking your iPhone.

My daughter set a password for son's iphone 3G and she cannot remember the password, can someone advice me how to unlock the phone

Plug it into iTunes with it at the unlock screen. Somewhere it should say "Unlock your iPhone" or something like that in iTunes. Click it. Otherwise do a restore by going to the screen where it shows how much memory you have used up in iTunes and click restore.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Thanks, Joe
