First off all check, printer printing properly?, if its printing only scan option not functioning then uninstall the drivers and re install once again. If printer is not at all printing, check system recognizing the printer or not.. if not recognizing, check with another USB cable,Replace formatter...
put any picture of your choice in the scanner plate...go to paints click on open ...there you will see a option which says scan click on it..thats all it will startscanning..but for this you must have windows 7 or vista..and also all the drivers must be installed properly..to check the drivers for your printer you can go to this link " http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=in&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3301296 "
You need to have the HP scan software running on your computer before you press scan, the scan options are in the scanning software and the scanner needs to know where to send the image, how to scan, and what type of image you're scanning.
It has to be an option you received with your scanner..not all scanners are equal. If you can find the documentation on the manufacturers website it will tell you if you have this feature..good luck...
Hi, The all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work fully with Vista.
But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.
1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP J5780) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.
