I am not able to remove bios password. i had removed the battery for a couple of hours, but still there is a password. i had corrupt my windows 7 and can boot from cd rom bcoz there is a bios password.

If the BIOS password cannot be remembered, the unit will need to be sent in for password removal. This service is not covered under warranty and charges will apply to have the password removed.

Please go to Fix My Acer and set the unit up for service requesting BIOS password removal. In the description please use the following: "Requesting BIOSpassword removal".

Note: This is for the BIOS password only and does not include the Windows login password. Acer does not remove Windows login passwords.

I have a Wipro Laptop. His BIOS is Phoenix. It has a CMOS password. How shall I clear the password.\?

Hi Nayanranjani.

As you trying to reset the BIOS password, let me provide the required steps.

You may reset the BIOS password by just removing and inserting the CMOS Battery.

The CMOS Battery will have the Computer date, time and also the BIOS password saved in it.

Hence, removing and re-inserting the CMOS password will reset the BIOS password.

Once the BIOS password is removed, you may assign a new BIOS password.

Hope this helps.
