I was wondering how much it would cost to fix my sonny ericson W300i, as it flashes black and wahite when i turn it on and i have to take the battery out to get it off.
OKAY I JUST FIXED MY PHONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW THAT CINGULAR NOR SONY COULD TELL ME THIS SOONER!!!!! IDIOTS!!!!
Okay with my phone..it would power up just fine..and then like 1-2 minutes later it would just freeze up or turn on/off. So in order for this too work you need to be able to quickly guide through your phone menu and do a MASTER RESET FOR YOUR PHONE.

UPON DOING THIS I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT AND PUT IT BACK IN AND RE-STARTED THE PHONE. THE INTIAL SONY ERRICSON THAT POPPED UP STAYED on the screen alittle longer than usual. But just be patient. Eventually i got this scrolling white bar that said please wait. Eventually it got to the end..and the phone begins to take you through the configuration process. PHONE FIXED. IT HAS NOT SHUT OFF OR FROZEN AGAIN
AGAIN YOU HAVE TO BE VERY QUICK IF YOUR PHONE SHUTS OFF QUICKLY..BUT TRUST ME THIS WORKED FOR ME.

I also have the same problem as mine aslo vibrates really loudly as well as flashing black and white.
