no solutions for broken monitor or lcd screen as anyway the plasma or crt has to be changed which is nearly 80% of cost of whole stuff...so be prepared to buy another one....
I hate to "Rain on your parade" as it were, but at 5 years old, and the fact you have had a "Catastrophic Failure" really puts this monitor into the "Should-we-spend-good-money-after-bad" Really once a failure such as this occurs, it often places so much stress on the "Other" components, through the massive current draw, thats caused the initial failure. That it will just "Chain Fault" once repaired. This is in my experience anyway.
Dell does not make TV's anymore but you can check www.partstore.com for a aftermarket part or www.ebay.com for TV with broken screens for parts ehter way here there is a resolve but you need to hunt.
