It is happening due to weak signal..in your locality,try the sim and see whats happen.if it is same then you have to change the PF of your phone..!!

What does network ic means? I have a sony ericsson k550 and it simply looses its network and I saw something like change the netowrk ic what does this means what do i have to change?

The network i.c. is part of the phone that is connected to a board which is called a network board area, and it enables the phone to search and receive network.
The network board area consist of the chips, capacitors, i.c. diode e.t.c.
That means you have to take your phone to a technician so that he can have the network i.c. replaced.
