If the TV was manufactured in 1993, it is NOT ready for the digital switch. If you have cable or satellite, you don't need to do anything because the cable or satellite box will do the swith for you. If you are using an outside antenna (rabbit ears) you will need to get a converter box. Hope this answers your question
This set in can not receive digital signals directyl. If you are connected to cable or satelite, you are ok. Only if you are using an antenna for signals will you be effected by the changeover in Feb 2009.
