My dryson dc40 beater bar will not spin and there is no suction

The brush bar motor or one of the switches may be defective. If the brush is not spinning it will not pick up anything from carpet leading many to think it has no suction. Feel for suction down by the brush bar. If you have no suction it may have a clog or need new filters. Make sure the changeover valve that switches suction from floor to tools is working properly.

My fantom thunder vacuum runs great but isn't picking up wand has no suction

It could be one or more problems. The filter is likely clogged. It should be replaced at least once per year if you can find one. Clogged filters greatly reduce airflow which will cause dirt and debris to build up in other areas of the vacuum eventually causing it to have no suction. If you get the suction working make sure to install a new belt if using it on carpeted floors.

The performance indicator light will not go out. I have cleaned the bag, filter and hose. there does not seem to be enough suction.

you are clogged somewhere ...

no suction?
performance indicator says no suction?

find and remove the clog.

id be looking in the hose about 4 inches from where the dirt enters the brush but dont limit your looking. The entire system should be checked for a clog. Remove it and you willbe back in business.

Losing suction in upright position

It's probably your belt. It could be broken or stretched. If broken or stretched, the roller won't spin very well, if at all. Another possibility is that there may be debris blocking suction near the roller. Hope this helps.

Hi the suction on my dyson hoover has gone very poor. I have cleaned all filters but suction is still pretty poor.Is there anything else i can do?

your problem with Dyson is the reason why a lot of them end up in the trash. here is the link to an article that will help you locate the cat fur, or hair or other debris that is lurking inside your machine and causing you to loose suction

No suction on main unit

Take the top cover off and check the inlet hose by the brush roll for a clog.
