Ok if the charger isnt bad the psp is bad and they didnt refurbish it right. Its a fuse blown and since you just bought it I would take it back to game stop for another one besides having to take it apart and mess with it.
Sometimes the PSP's will freeze for one reason or another. In most cases the psp will turn off within a minute and then restart itself. If not disconnect any power supply and remove the battery for a moment to manually reset it. Hopefully you saved recently.
Hey, looks like your PSP may have one of these two problems. There are 2 screws on the backside of the PSP System on the side of the analog stick. If either of the screw is loose then the analog stick will move by itself. Second problem is the Analog Stick itself has been damaged. You can replace these very easily if you are good with tools and electronics.
Have you inserted the game disc UMD into the PSP itself? You have to wait a few seconds after you turn it on before the game icon will be visible in the main menu screen before you can access the game. When it's active and you have the game icon selected press the "X" button to start the game.
Well I would not use that UMD no more. The UMD could have jarred the Laser and keeping it from moving. Sometimes you can clear this by forcing the laser to move some. You will hear it click a few times. Once you click it a few times one way or another. Try a UMD, Not the UMD that broke it, to see if that fixed
