RTE-p1ad is 24-volt AC 8-pin on-delay timer.
Manual for RTE-P1 & RTE-P2
http://www.idec.com/language/english/catalog/U908/G_Timers_RTE.pdf
I have not wired the P1 timer.
Manual shows for ON-delay, 24VAC input power goes to terminals 2 and 7
Using multimeter set to read ohms, check continuity between pins 7 and 8 to see if these pins are connected internally, or if you need jumper.
Also check continuity between pins 1 and 2 for same.
When power is applied to 2 and 7, the ON delay countdown begins.
When countdown ends, the switches are activated.
Switches are represented by angled line that connects to terminals 1 and 8. When countdown ends, the switch moves left and and completes circuit to other wire.
Using multimeter set to 24VAC, you can check each of the pins by putting power to 2 and 7 and checking which pins have power after countdown ends.
The NC normally closed terminals are 1 and 4, and 5 and 8, so it appears that these terminals are ON all the time until countdown ends and 'contacts transfer power.' Test the pins to be certain.
