The spring bar should be the easiest and cheapest part to this repair. Measurements are taken between the watch lugs in metric. Spring bar assortments can be purchased on Amazon very inexpensively. The broken strap is the more expensive part of the repair and can only be sourced from KORBEC directly through their website and or authorized local dealer / jewelry shop.

You should take it back to the supplier.

I know that the guarntees do not cover the strap but it is reasonable to expect a much longer life than this! The strap was "not suitable for purpose".

You should get a replacement free of charge.

Unless the watch has a unique design on lugs for the strap, you should be able buy a strap that is interchangeable with the existing one form most watch shops.

They will usually fit it for you for nothing.

Depending on where you are located... Samuels Jewelers or Some Macey's (Lazurus's) carry Straps for higher end watches. If nothing else go to either Amazon.com or 111watches.com to order what you need there.

The "gizmo" would be the pin that attaches the watch to the case. You can easily purchase a replacement pin or strap at any store that has watches (even Wal-Mart). These are very inexpensive and each one will cost you less than $10.
