My heater runs great for about 15-20 minutes and then raw diesel comes out and it shuts down. I thought maybe the tank vent might not be working right so I tried running it with the tank cap off and it did the same thing. What would make it shut down when it was running so great? the fuel tank is full. Thanks

diesel--check the vent on the fuel tank for obstructions like a mud wasp nest
petrol check again for the same problem or a bad tank filler cap
many people call a lawn mower a tractor so next time be specific with the make , model, year, engine type and type of equipment

Check tank maybe crude in tank when it gets low Also check tank outlet for blockage

I have a 2006 ford f250 diesel, It runs like a top . But when I shut this thing off it does not want to start back up . It will but it whips over for like 3-4 minutes and it whips over fast then starts . when it starts it runs great all the power is good and no smoke or anything . it don't care if its hot or cold it don't like to start. but if it only sit's for a minute or two it will fire right back up . It will only do this if it sit's for more then 5-10 minutes . Ok people any thoughts I would love to hear them. thanks George

If you have the same heater i do then in between the elements at the bottom there is a safety swith that bends when it heats up and breaks the connection Dont mess with it plugged in it will shock the hell out of you but if you bend it down it wont be able to lift off the circut and will stay running untill you turn it off

Sounds to me like it could be a few things... pretty interesting that it runs and shuts down...sits for a little while then fires back up. Could be something as simple as a bad ground.. maybe it needs cleaned.. if the ground is making very little contact.. the bike would run bad, and because its direct current it has to flow. The metal in the motor frame etc will hold so much DC current.. but *** soon as it load up the bike would stop sparking. Let it sit for a while, DC trickles into the battery through the slight contact, bike fires back up. OR could be bad venting of your fuel tank, or a partial clog at the pet ****.. the first is pretty easy to check, open your fuel cap and start the bike..if it does the same thing then its not a vent problem. One thing that does happen on the Radian, is the reserve fuel screen inside the tank comes loose, and then everything inside the that has built up over the years either partially clogs the pet ****, or the hose, or both. Take the tank off, pull the pet **** off..if it still has two intact tubes with good screens..you probably don't have any junk in your line..but I would pull the line off and blow through it any way... it could be some type of blockage, when the bike sets the fuel seep through, but when it runs it eventually creates a vaccuum that stops the fuel flow. Those are my two first thoughts... good luck!!

On some mowers...if the gas cap vent is not working properly, it will run fine for about 15 or 20 minutes, start spitting and sputtering, if you loosen the cap, and let air back into the tank it starts running normally again.

If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.

This may sound dumb, but is it full? i have a simupar one and if i start it out at 1/4 tank or ness it will not run long before it shuts off.
