I have an LG DLE5932W. I've been trouble shooting the dryer the past couple of days. It is making a loud vibrating noise that seems to be coming the element side of the dryer. Today I turned it on, went outside to make sure that I had good ventilation (which I did) came back inside to a house full of smoke and the dryer shut itself off. Element?

A vibration tells me it may be the idler pulley(s). If the pulley seizes, the belt will burn and break. If it smelled like burning rubber, then thats what happened

LG DLE2516W Dryer suddenly making loud vibrating noise

Until you know how serious a problem you have, I'd advise against continued use. If you are in the USA, go to http://www.lge.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp
to find a service provider for in warranty service, or call LG USA at 800-243-0000.

Loud noise when dryer is running.

My guess is that the belt is going bad. It could also be a bad bearing...the noise is generally metallic. Also...a bad belt tensioner comes to mind.
