I am using Garage Band 08 running on Mac Power PC w/ a 1.4 Ghz processor and 1.38 GB SDRAM and the Lexicon Lambda. I am having a problem recording to a track. . . I keep getting a terrible white noise on each track I try to record a vocal on. GB is set up to recognize the lambda as the audio in/and audio out/ I am recording using a condenser mic, the phantom power on the lambda is on, the track has been set to record mono

Hi, I just bought one today and am using a condenser mic through the lamdba. I booted up apple logic - plugged in the device and it found it as a usb audio device. You need to use the headphone jack on the lamdba. good luck

SOURCE: Lexicon Lambda not detected

the usb could be the problem. when you plug it in does your comp make a noise if not it is the usb if it does than the drivers are not in sometimes its a program problem try going to start-mycomputer-(cd/dvd drive right click on it and click explore. find the file labled drivers and install them first than install the program hope this helps.

Have just purchased lexicon alpha to use on a Mac. Having trouble just getting started. Have hooked up a nice condenser mic into the alpha through the mic input on the rear and cannot get anything on the...

Make sure you have Phantom power turned on on the Lexicon... Oh,oh... it appears that the Alphs may NOT have phantom power which IS a REQUIREMENT for most condenser mics...

The Lexicon Omega does have this but apparently the Aplpha doesn't have it.

That leaves you with the choice of either getting a dynamic mic that doesn't need Phantom, or replacing the Alpha, OR using a preamp ahead of the mic before the Alpha...

Sorry, but those are the only solutions I see for you.

REMEMBER that condenser mics pick up everything and you cannot run them into a PA or they will feedback.

It's because when you recording your get sound from Lambda!!! But PC can't reproduce that quality! Try to download driver or update which will allow you to achieve what you want.
