My gas dryer starts up heating but after a few mintues it quits heating the drum. I checked the thermo fuse by bypassing it but doesnt mae a difference whats the problem?

On ge dryers the fuse will look like this: about the size of a dime black and has two yeller wires. Ya gotta take it apart to get to the fuse and see why it blowed. Clean it up get all that lint out I have a page on ge dryers here: GE DRYER REPAIR

If thermal fuse is testing open, it is not good and needs to be replaced. Try replacing this.

Those coils are probably getting hot and quitting then after a long time they cool off and work some more then quit again.

Kenmore dryers have what we call a thermo fuse, usually on top on the burner area - I would check continuity on this unit and replace if nesessary.
If the thermo fuse is okay and dryer heats up with gas, check your igniter and/or gas unit coils.
If dryer heats up with electric elements check continuity at both element ends and/or high limit thermostat.

The heat is regulated with a Klixon mounted next to the blower housing near the vent pipe so it can judge the temperature of the air coming out of the drum.Right next to it is a melting type fuse. If the dryer runs and gets too hot the fuse will melt.But the dryer will still run. So if the fuse is good(continuity) and the dryer control(cycle) thermostat is also good then you should have power going to the gas valve assembly when the machine is running unless the timer is in the no heat or wrinkle free/cool down mode. When the gas valve assembly is energized the flame sensor flame sensor mounted outside the burner chamber detects the heat from the ignitor. When the heat is very intense then the sensor shuts down the igniter
Igniter and that frees up the power so that the coils can be fully energised and open the gas gates. The gas comes out and hits the red hot igniter and you have ignition. It stays on for maybe 2 or 3 minutes or until the control thermostat is satisfied and shuts down power to the gas valve assembly.
If your gas dryer has a good flame sensor and a good igniter AND the dryer will work some and quit, replace these: Gas operator coils The coils get hot and quit on these machines when they get a little age on them. It is aggrevating because it is a hard to diagnose thing. But well worth the 20 bucks.

ck the thermo fuse then ck the gas valve for power and the igniter to see if its broken probley igniter if you dont see a glow comeing from it

Probably a high limit fuse. Check on the burner shroud for a 2 wire thermos. They should have little resistance. If so replace. If they are open, check for a restricted vent. Remove front panel and clean out area below filter.

My maytag neptune dryer quit heating, after my wife changed the temp setting on the console from regular, to extra low drying temperature. The heating element reads 10.5 ohms. The thermal cutoff reads 0.02 ohms. The hi-limit thermo reads 0.02 ohms. The power coming into the dryer is 240 volts. What can I check or need to replace.
