Have a Dometic Rooftop RV air conditioner. It tripped last year for no reason. We reset it and it worked but, when we told the dealer to check it out, they found nothing wrong. This year, it worked one weekend and then the air conditioner stopped working and needed replacement (it is 2 1/2 years old). Now we have a new AC and while coming home from our weekend with the generator running the AC, the AC circuit tripped again for no reason. We reset it, turned the AC back on, thinking that it would work but, after waiting several minutes to go on, it did not go back on so we shut it off. We have it at home now, plugged it in and it is working.
Please assist us.
Since your RV A/C works O.K. when plugged in to the land line and the trip happens when you run it on your generator the problem may be related to the generator output. It is possible that the power being supplied by the generator is not handling the surge when the A/C starts. Starting Amperage on start up is about 5 times the running Amperage for about 3 seconds until the compressor comes up to its rated speed.
Its the watts you plug in too like ither 30 watts vs 50 watts. 30 watts will cause your wires to get hot in the unit. just pull down your breaker box and look at those white ground wires.

I'm sorry, what is supposed to be found when looking at white ground wires? I'm not sure of your instructions or your point.
I would assume that regardless of 30 or 50, the AC should work without a problem. This is a problem and how do we fix what is happening.
