Depends on the player and the amp. Volume control and source selection are what the receiver brings to the mix. If your amp has volume control, go for it.

If you don't mind having the CD play at MAXIMUM volume with no way to lower it, yes.

I can't find pix of the scch404 rear panel so the basic hookup would be CD analog out RCA pair to any analog audio input on any audio device (except Phono).

Yes it is possible, just need the proper cables from CD player to the amp. Radio Shack should have
what you need.

Newer receivers that do not have a phono jack on the back require a preamp adapter between the turntable and amp to boost it before it gets amplified by the receiver.

Hello. I have a question. My amplifier has a dat/dcc input. Is this input for a digital compact cassette deck only? Can I use it as aux, i.e. can I connect CD player, dvd player or tuner to this...

You could try plugging into this socket if it is a phono socket. If it is a little square black hole its probably a digital only sock and it wom't be compatable with your CD player, etc. If the sockets and plugs match turn the volume to ZERO - turn off the amp, plug in the CD, etc. and with a disc in it press play. Turn the volume up VERY slightly and listen for any sound. Try the different input buttons to make certain the circuit is complete. Keep the volume low as you don't want to damage the speakers. Good Luck

SUV500 2-Channel Amplifier: Hi! can I connect another technics cd-player,sl...

yes you can connect another cd player to the DAT input of your amp.
input connections like DAT, TUNER, CD, AUX etc (except phono) is just to differentiate between what sources are connected, the amp cannot tell what source is connected and will output the sound no problem.

as for the remote operation, if the 2 technics cd players are switched on at the same time they're going to do what you command from the remote together but you'll obviously be listening to 1 at a time.

Loading Problem

No Disk issues on device players like DVDs are caused by the following problems

Dirty Play Heads (Optical lens)
Bad CDs or scratched CDs on the surface
Non Compatible CD formats such as DVDs that are designed for some geographical regions and play formats
Also low electrical current is a major problem too

Your issue could reside amongst any of these problems

Check your DVD compactible play formats if its compactible with the CD you want to play.

If its compactible, then I suggest you get a CD Cleaner to clean to clean to Lens.

Also check your current output and if low, get a voltage stabilizer

Check the surface of the CD if its scratched and get a replacement.

CD player of a COMPACT DISC STEREO SYSTEM fails to operate.

There are a couple of questions that need to be answered in order for me to get an idea of the problem and its solution.

1) What is the make and model please?

2) When you load the discs, do you hear them load up one at a time without them actually playing?

3) Is there an indication on the front stating "no disc" or any other message?

Thanks,
Dan

Disc gets jammed mid-way between CD magazine slot and inside player

Thats alot of disc this ubit holds. 110+1!! The CD changer arm mechanism sounds like is out of timming or the gears have slipped there teeth, and or the cam is broken, or theres a couple of small microswitches that can get broken as well.. The only way to work on this unit and see what the problem is, is to get a service manual and go through the mechanical alighnment and see where the problem is. Unless you can do a physical examination and know where every lob and gear is suppose to be, I do not see any other ways.

No sound with discs playing

There should be some sort of outboard amplifier. Mine had an amp at each speaker, and also a receiver mounted behind the passenger seat. Could it be that the power antenna lead from your headunit is connected to the amp turn-on lead? That way, when the radio is playing, the antenna lead is powered and thus the amps are too, whereas when the CD is playing, the antenna lead would not be powered and thus no sound. Try reversing these two wires (Power antenna and amplifier turn-on) and your CD should work.
