That error is for the shift tray motor in your finisher where the copies come out. The tray should move from side to side when you switch the machine off and on. It sounds as if it is binding for some reason.

this problem can be solved by pressing the yellow button,then enter 107 and hold down the red button till the screen changes to copy SP,press OK or 1.The macine will now be in service mode.switch the machine off then on again.if it go into SC541 again the problem lies with the thermistor of the fuser unit

Ricoh copier service code SC541 refers to the fuser assembly having a problem.
Sometimes they code can be temporarily reset, however, it will eventually come back
and not go away!
While the printer is on do the following:

1. Hold down both of the arrow keys for 10 seconds
2. Press ENTER
3. Select Option 2 for Engine
4. Choose 7 Data Log
5. scroll down to 7807 and execute it. click OK
6. press the escape button until you get to the engine option
7. then select option 3 to end
8. restart the printer by pressing the power button.

If the above does not work, repeat the procedure but instead of 7807 look for SC calling, something like that, and reset the whole thing.
The reality is that the problem is fixable though, and do not need to purchase a new fuser, after clearing the code, the printer should work fine again

first go to SP mode by pressing cleare modes button following 107 and press & hold the cleare button untill the display changes then switch OFF the machine adn ON if problem exists replace the thermistors - thanks

SC541 is a fuser heat failure. This means the fuser, which heats up and fuses the toner onto the paper, is not heating properly. Most of the time on Ricoh's this is caused by failure of the thermistor(s) which are responsible for reading the temperature of the fuser unit.
I would look in your local phonebook's yellow pages under copier service/supplies. Either find an independent servicer, such as someone listed as "services all makes and models" or look for a Ricoh, Gestetner or Savin dealer. The Gestetner and Savin makes are exactly the same as Ricoh so they may be able to help.

On the operation panel, press Clear Mode ". 2. Use the number keys to enter 107. 3. Press and hold Clear/Stop # for three seconds. 4. On the touch-panel, press Copy SP. then turn off and on the machine

Hello sir; Your machine need to reset, the procedure as follow;
1, press "clear mode", "107", then hold down "clear/stop" key, until screen change message to sp mode.
2, turn power off and back on ,machine will in working condition.
