My computer is saying that the system is not fully installed and all I want to do is to resite it to its factory settings

Which operating system ?????.....
The HP Recovery Partition that comes pre-installed on most new HPs is like built-in insurance if your system becomes unstable or fails.
If the problem is severe enough, you may not be able to start the HP Desktop Recovery Manager from Windows but you can start it manually by following the steps below.

Disconnect all peripheral devices and power on the computer.
Press the F11 key after the computer first powers on to start the HP Recovery Manager.

Follow the on-screen instructions to back up recoverable files on the hard drive to an external drive or media.
Continue following the instructions to recover the hard drive to its original factory condition.
Click "Finish" when the recovery is complete.
Reconnect devices and reboot the computer.
Reinstall software and update Windows and HP to current settings.

HP Pavilion Recovery Partition
Accessing the recovery partition on your HP Pavilion laptop allows you to restore your computer to speed it up, eliminate a virus or repair your Windows operating system.
The Recovery Manager program makes it possible to restore your laptop to its settings as of a previous date or restore your computer to its original factory settings, which will erase all of your installed programs and personal data.
Using the recovery partition allows you to bypass the hassle of keeping track of recovery discs, which could be damaged in storage, rendering them useless when you need them.

Turn on or restart your HP Pavilion laptop.
Press "F11" when the "Press <F11> for recovery" message appears during the HP Pavilion boot process.
Select "Recovery Manager" from your list of recovery options and press "Enter."
The Recovery Manger program will open on your screen, and you can begin the recovery process.
Access Recovery Manager Within Windows
Click the "Start" icon or "Start" button in the lower left corner of your Windows home screen.
Click "All Programs" and then "Recovery Manager."
Click "Recovery Manager" again to open the Recovery Manager program on your HP Pavilion laptop.

How do i restore my hp pavilion ze2000 to factory settings without disks?

Hello,
Most HP Pavilions have a recovery partition on there hard drive. You will need to press f11 when you boot to activate the recovery segment of the hard drive.
Now if the recovery partition was distoryed then you will need to call Hp for replacement image disks witch they will charge to ship to you.
I do wish you good luck on this and do hope that you leave positive feedback for your response today.

Sincerely

The internet stopped connecting. I reset everything I could think of but still not connecting. I took the case apart and noticed a lot of dust and the fan for the power supply has stopped. Not sure what to...

fans bad will wreck lots of parts from overheating.
NO OS stated.
is this XP.? the dead OS and virus magnet?
so its wired LAN, good that is 10x more easy to get working and to help you. for sure, than wifi, (im a wifi pro and so hate it...)
So first if to see if the Ethernet chip driver is missing in device manager.
NOT POSTED OS IS SO WRONG.
As XP drivers are pain in the ash can to find. ( i can with my tools)

your PC is only 10 years old, 70 dog years.
so id bet it needs new PSU (fan bad) and new COIN cell.
and the missing NIC drivers, for this PC

this PC came with XP ,vista or W7
the driver must match, the OS,
so which is it?
here Ill guess its w7 as it should be, and not the 2 other DEAD OS.
ill then guess 32bits.
and land you here.

omg there is no NIC chip on the POS.
ouch. not good that, you left off the word NOt/.
and said
The ethernet is on the mother board
of the CAT5 jack is not there then say so.
I cant look and must trust the spec pages,
here ill look for you.
shows
Lite-On USB Wireless LAN Driver Update
and sure does need working driver.
after all how can you get it ,if you cant connect the the internet.
chicken and egg deal there.

ok the info page shows
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-elite-m9000-desktop-pc-series/3550541/model/3550542/product-info

  • Interface: Integrated into motherboard
  • Technology: Intel 825662DC
  • Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100 Mb/s
  • Transmission standards:10-Base-T Ethernet

so the old slow Ethernet jack 10baseT is there. a slug slug slug port. pathetic is the words
but intel.com has the driver if you need it ever go there.?

better is a USB eithernet dongle new.
100x better.

hi,
yea you may, but make sure that you have already created a *Ghost* image of your current setup.

All you need is a bootable CD with some utilities which will help you out.

Try "hiren's Magic Disk 9.5" : it is bootable disk with proper menus and lots of utilities to make you king of your system.

This disk is usually used by System professionals (including me) :)

Instructions:
1. Boot your system with this magic disk
2. Goto Clone Disk option (Ghost disk)
3. Choose Best compression version
4. utility will start Symantec Ghost which will ask you for the source partition and destination partition for making images.
5. proceed with proper answers.
6. once the ghost imaging is complete, store this ghost image in your external storage drive
7. again boot your system with this magic disk
8. goto Partition utilties
9. Select Acronis Partition manager
10. You'll love to use this software for hard disk maintanence.

kuldeep
