You must use Genuine Xerox supplies from Xerox, especially if you are on a lease and supplies deal. You slip a refilled or 'compatible' replacement toner from 'The Toner Guys', the machine locks you out until reset by a Xerox tech.

Turns out the WorkCentre 3615 has two types of toners - None Metered 106TO2722 and Metered 106RO2724. Both toner boxes say WorkCentre 3615. You must order the correct one or you will get this error and the machine won't work at all. Who knew? Xerox admitted they sent us the wrong one, so they are offering to fix with a code over the phone.
From experience, I wouldn't do it...
The different series usually have slightly different toner composition, so you may find that your copier will be majorly over-toned or under-toned. by doing that.
I personally wouldn't risk it, and I have been in the industry 24 years...
This can be caused by a number of reasons. Continuous run of high density prints temporarily depletes the toner supply. The rest requires a service man because needs diagnostics routines and checking of the toner supply of the developer tank
