I have a d102ggc2 mother board and i was using ddr2 533-1GB RAM, now i have bought a new ddr2 667 to upgrade it to 2GB memory. The system is able to detect only one RAM even if i plug in both together.

I have checked the INTEL site and read the specs on this MB. It only lists support for DDR2 400 and 533 RAM. I can only assume that either some upgrade to the board has been made, or that your 667 RAM will only be performing at 533 speed. The specifications manual lists very specific guidance as to what RAM DIMM design(s) are acceptable. Many double-sided options are unacceptable. It is possible that the system may not be seeing half of each DIMM because of the restrictions on approved RAM modules. This is an older board, and many of them where very fussy about whether you could use single and double sided RAM. Later boards overcame that issue.

I am using this ASUS (asus M2N-MX nvidia mcp61p chipset

According to the manufacturer's web-site:

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=0pKBwEIE8tqMT4j7

this motherboard has 4 x DIMM sockets,
supporting a maximum of 4 GB
of DDR2 800/667/533/ Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

and supports Dual Channel memory architecture.

So, add one 512MB DDR2 533 Mhz RAM into one of the slots,
being sure to leave *ONE* *EMPTY* slot between the two sticks,
in order to enable the high-performance "dual-channel" option.

Try your computer -- it should feel faster.

If you still think that need more RAM, buy two 512MB (or two 1024MB) DDR2 533 Mhz RAM, putting the 2 sticks into the two empty slots.

Install a 800mghz ram with a 667mghz ram

MMM dont know what your asking but most mother boards will down grade ram to match all ram stick setting like if you put 1 800mghz stick with a 667 or 533 it should run at those slower speeds but some motherboards are picky
