Instructions:

Before performing a factory reset or clean boot the mobile handheld device, please back up all your important files/data from the mobile. Factory reset or clean boot may remove the personal files and folders from the device.

Download the files, 75XXw60HenCB0100.zip and 75XXw60HenCBA0100.zip on the PC using the below mentioned web link.

https://docs.symbol.com/KanisaPlatform/Publishing/666/12319_f.html

Save the files on any location on the PC. Better to save on the desktop screen for easy navigation.

Right click on the saved zip files and extract the zip files to a known location on the PC.

Copy and paste the extracted files to either the root of an SD Card (and place the SD Card in your device) OR the TEMP folder of the Motorola MC75 mobile handheld device.

Note: When the zip files are extracted, we will get 4 or 5 files. One of the file is StartUpdLdr.exe

75XXCLEANBOOT.ZIP

This file is intended for use when a CLEAN BOOT of an MC75XX WM 6.0 device is required. Unzip the contents of this device to either the root of an SD Card (and place the SD Card in your device) OR the TEMP folder. Then follow the UPDATE LOADER boot instructions below.

75XXCLEANBOOTANDBLANK.ZIP

This file is intended for use when both a blank Application Folder and a CLEAN BOOT of an MC75XX WM 6.0 device is required. Unzip the contents of this device to either the root of an SD Card (and place the SD Card in your device) OR the TEMP folder. Then follow the UPDATE LOADER boot instructions below.

Note: Although the zip file references only Windows Mobile 6.0, however these packages are approved for use on all version of Windows Mobile 6.x.

Steps to accomplish the factory reset of Motorola MC75 mobile handheld device

There are two methods to perform an Update Loader Boot/ Clean boot on MC75:

Method 1:

Perform a cold boot:

To perform a cold boot on the Motorola MC75 handheld device simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.

Immediately, as soon as the device starts to boot (before the splash screen is visible), hold the upper right hand trigger key.

The screen should display a message with the words "Update Warning" at the top of the screen.

Place the device on A/C power either by placing it in a cradle or a CAM. The update will automatically start after AC power is detected.

The device will invoke an Update Loader boot, which will cause the PKGS.LST file deposited on the device to be processed. Leave the device on A/C power during the Update Loader process.

Method 2:

Navigate to the root of an SD Card OR the TEMP folder of the Motorola MC75 mobile handheld device.

Tap 'StartUpdLdr.exe'

After 20 seconds or so, the device will perform an Update Loader boot which will cause the PKGS.LST file deposited on the device to be processed. Leave the device on A/C power during the Update Loader process

When the device has completed the process it will return to the Windows Mobile ""Tap the screen to set up your Windows Mobile-based device" screen. At this point, if you used an SD card, please remove it from the device. If you placed the files in the TEMP folder, they will be automatically erased by the CLEAN BOOT process.

Resetting the MC75

There are two reset functions, warm boot and cold boot. A warm boot restarts the MC75 by closing all running

programs. A cold boot also restarts the MC75, and also resets the clock. Data saved in flash memory or a memory

card is not lost.

If the MC75 is not functioning properly, perform a warm boot first. If the MC75 still does not respond, perform a cold

boot.

Performing a Warm Boot

Hold down the Power button for approximately five seconds. As soon as the MC75 starts to boot release the

Power button.

Performing a Cold Boot
To perform a cold boot simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe
