Hi,

The KSM150 is the line of mixers with similar features. It is in the Artisan series, tilt head, 325 watts. All mixers in the KSM150 line have the same features.
The one that you asked about, the KSM150PSMC is done in metallic chrome.
Best regards, --W/D--

Makes a grinding noise at higher speeds

If it is leaking you are going to have to go inside the gearbox to change the grease so whatever is wrong inside may become obvious when you take it apart. Remove accessory cap from the front and look for any dryish grindings inside there.

The screw underneath the head of my kitchen aid mixer is tight, but the head is still wobbling. It isn't a beater adjustment--I already tried that. The head of the mixer is tilted forward a bit--in

When you have the head lifted up the screw you can see in there from the front in the middle by the hinge is the head height adjuster. You need to set the height correctly now so that FLAT PADDLE just clears the bowl. Unscrew it anti clockwise to raise the head. Once that is done turn the machine upside down on a towel and check that the locking screw on the hinge pin is tight, it\'s right up inside the pedestal.

KitchenAid stand mixer KSM150 was run without locking down the motor housing. Now the motor head "wobbles" when the mixer is operating. I've tried adjusting the screw located under the head but it...

The screw under the head is for adjusting the head height for when the standard paddle and bowl are being used. First tip the whole machine upside down and tighten the hinge pin screw right up inside the pedestal post. Next reset the head height with flat paddle. Screw in is head down, screw out is head up. You want the paddle to just stop tinging the bowl on high speed.

Is a kitchen aid model # KSM5PSAC the same as KSM150SP?

The KSM5 and the KSM150 are different mixers. They are both 5 quart mixers and use the same gearing and motor. However the bowl design is different. The KSM5 is a 5 quart bowl lift, which means the bowl locks into the arms of the mixer and raises towards the head of the mixer, where the ksm150 mixer is a artisan mixer, which is also a 5quart mixer, but the head of the mixer tilts back and the bowl twists into the base ring to lock into place. These two mixers will take different bowls and beaters.
Thank you,
Colleen

KitchenAid KSM150 bowl won't stay put

I'd be looking at making sure the beater is not banging on the bowl and that the head hinge isn't loose. The bowl is secure on the base with this system that has been in use for decades so you are looking for a fault not a re-design of the system. The friction of the mix in the bowl should logically tend to tighten the bowl, not undo it. I have seen a malformed bowl once where the lugs weren't big enough and I suspect that it's possible for there to have been the odd malformed bottom plate with not big enough lugs.

KitchenAid KSM150 bowl won't stay put

If the base is not holding the bowl properly then only a replacement base plate or another bowl is going to fix it. The base plate is held onto the pedestal with 3 Philips head screws.
