Depending on your model, this is caused by visual post-processing which may introduce lag. Many LCD diplays have a "game mode" setting make sure this is on when playing your Xbox 360 through this LCD TV. Also, depending on your model of TV, there are motion enhancers (usually proprietary e.g. LG calls its TruMotion) which can also introduce lag; these should be turned off while playing. Another step that should be followed, is to turning off any set video setting in the Xbox's configuration (i.e. turning off any set video output such as 480p, 720p, 1080i, etc.) and setting it to "Optimal Resolution". This should allow for native video output instead of possibly upscaling which would in turn induce lag.
This should correct you lag issue for most common LCD TV's.

Thanks for the info. I was having terrible controller issues after switching to a new Sanyo 42" 120 HZ LCD HDTV and couldn't understand why I was so bad at BF3. I had to slow down the refresh rate from 120 Hz to off and it fixed the problem perfectly. After playing with this handicap for 1 month, I am tearing it up out there now. Check out your TV's settings, bc you could be severely handicapping yourself without even knowing it!
