I cannot download my pictures from my polaroid x800 digital underwater camera. One user said to turn the camera on and press the picture button. My usb cable is where the batteries are so I cannot turn my camera on when the usb cable is plugged in the camera. Help.

I am having this same problem. I am following the directions, but the "Autoplay" window never appears. I just uploaded from my regular digital camera today and the Autoplay window did appear, but nothing shows up for this x800 camera. Any suggestions?

The PROBLEM is you CAN'T turn the camera on because the USB cable port is beside the batteries. When you open the compartment to hook up the USB cable there's no connection for the batteries !!!!! Who invented this camera??????????

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

The Flash is stuck to off on my Polaroid x800 camera. How do i fix this?

If Polaroid x800 flash doesn't turn ON - that is because of the picture mode (a plastic switch on one of the sides). In my case: mountains symbol - flash turns ON/OFF, flower symbol - flash is stuck to OFF.

There should be a button with a clock icon. Press it and you should be presented with choices for how many seconds you want before the pic is taken. Make your choice and press the shutter button...get in the picture.

Beep

The Polaroid Fun! Digital 320 camera is programmed to shut off automatically after a few minutes if it is not being used. This helps to conserve battery power. When the camera shuts itself off, it will make a continual beeping sound. To use the camera after it has shut off, simply push the shutter button or self-timer button to take a picture. If you are not going to use your camera, turn the power switch to OFF. The camera will also beep in rapid sequence after you press the self-timer button. The camera will continue to beep in faster sequence until a picture is taken (approximately 10 seconds). A final long beep signals that a picture has been taken. NOTE: It is normal for the camera to beep while downloading photos to a computer.
